The position:
Head of Global Business Services (f/m/d)
Location: Ideally based near a major airport (Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne, Stuttgart, Nuremberg or Leipzig)
Remote across Germany | Comprehensive onboarding in Munich
Tasks
- Orchestrate and execute the transition of one of the client’s organizations into a shared service center (200–250 employees) for finance, HR, customer service, supply chain, procurement, as well as quality and production support processes
- Oversee the ramp-down of the existing organization, the delivery of the associated savings targets, and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer
- Manage the performance of the service center and the vendor (including SLA and KPI reviews), and steer remediation actions
- Develop a high-performing global business services team, foster a one-team culture with the business process outsourcing (BPO) provider, and monitor the BPO contract (incl. change requests, cost development, productivity achievement etc.)
- Lead the process harmonization and automation across end-to-end processes, the internal organization and the external provider
- Accelerate the deployment of enabling technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), robotic process automation (RPA) and workflow automation
Profile
- 15+ years of experience in (managing transition into) shared services, thereof multiple years in a role of at least comparable complexity, and a track record in developing, motivating, and retaining an high‑performing team
- Know-how in driving significant productivity improvements, negotiating BPO contracts/amendments, and in vendor governance
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (approx. 50 %)
- Experience in pharma, healthcare, high-quality manufacturing or similar industries plus good understanding of enterprise technologies like automation and generative AI
- Proficiency in English and German combined with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and align third-party interests with corporate goals
- A high-energy individual with focus on results, high standards and an impeccable integrity
